Well, we have been listening to Dave Ramsey's 'Total Money Makeover' CDs now for a couple of weeks................. (www.daveramsey.com) and I think it has totally transformed us... we were always, despite Dan's great salary, looking for ways to cut back and get ahead....... but, without a direct and precise answer, we weren't sure what to do..... and nothing was working. Now, we have a concrete plan and are so excited to plan our future!!!
Since all of this has transpired, you must understand that our spending patterns must change....... Tonight I went out to spend $300 in groceries ( this is a ridiculously low amount for my family of 9... I usually spend close to $800 per shop).... I got to the checkout, very uneasy, and trembling a bit... It looked like we would be over (my usual. ugh). I had my Sam with me looking at the UNO game ($4.97)..........I told him that if we came in under $295, that he could get it.........well, we did it! we came in at $294.76.... we had just enough for his game, and we 'splurged'!! Wow, it is amazing how God works sometimes.......

Hey so wheeeeeere did you shop to spend that little on groceries for you fam? Because then I should be able to buy groceries for like 100 bucks!
The 'Stuffmart'... you know, Walmart... but it was only a one-week shop (as opposed to my biweekly $800-900 shop...). Still, it was less, and that is what counts... right? Actually, the only thing that 'counts' right now is that I stay IN budget..... (something I have NEVER been able to do.............:)argh!
Okay, I'm eager to see how the week goes and if you ran to the store for more stuff. What is strange is that I just cut my grocery budget as well and so far so good!
Well, I just ran out of a few things.. but will adjust next week, and we will see!
